Albert Wills died from wounds on 20th October, 1914, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st East Yorkshire battalion was part of 18 Brigade, 6th Division, that had arrived in France in September, 1914 and were then in action during the Battle of the Aisne in September and the Battle of Armentieres in October. |
